My Third Act Life

Nothing prepares you for your “Third Act.” One day you’re a “young 40-something.” Then you wake up and now you’re 50 - and everyone knows that 50 is the “new 40” - right? You figure you’ve still got your figure, and your looks. You can still color your hair to fool your friends - and your mirror.   And since the average lifetime for women is now 85, you’ve got at least 25 or more years!  Plenty of time for a new career; a new hair color, or even a new marriage. It seems to go by so quickly though. Your kids are dating, going away to school, moving away, getting married and having kids. Now you’re a grandparent-but you’re still cool-right?? And the few words or tunes you forget must be an anomaly. Everyone slows down a little bit, don’t they?  No big deal. Except that it is a big deal.
